How it works in 3 steps
-
1
Your panels generate electricity
During the day, they turn sunlight into electricity on your roof.
-
2
You use your own generation first
Your appliances prioritise the electricity you generate. Each kWh of your own generation used is a kWh you do not pay STEG for.
-
3
The grid provides the rest
At night and whenever needed, STEG takes over. A bidirectional meter installed by STEG measures the exchanges.
What you gain
Your generation covers your needs first; surplus is credited on your STEG bills under the rules in force and up to your consumption. The aim is to reduce your bill over the long term, not to resell electricity.
Tunisia's solar resource
Tunisia is one of the sunniest Mediterranean countries: depending on the region, around 1 450 to 1 830 kWh per installed kWc per year (source: ANME), with over 3 000 sunshine hours annually. Your roof's actual generation is estimated during the assessment.
Get the sizing right
The right installation maximises self-consumption, not capacity. As a guide, capacity (in kWc) is approximately your annual consumption (in kWh) divided by your region's specific yield. We refine this calculation for your actual situation.
